Black box insurance‍

Outline above, Black box insurance could be an option for a younger driver (you have to be between 17 and 35 for the cover).

You choose to take out either a 6,000-, 8,000- or 10,000-mile policy (this can be changed later) and are then monitored on your driving. If you drive safely, you can benefit from an extra 100 miles per month. You’ll have access to a portal to view how many bonus miles you’ve accrued and how safe your driving is.

If you’re a Clubcard member, you’ll get a guaranteed discount:

While you won’t receive Clubcard points for making car insurance payments, you will receive a discount of up to 10% if you input your Clubcard when taking out a policy on their online portal.

How to make changes or cancel Tesco car insurance

If you need to make any changes, such as adding a driver or changing your vehicle, or cancel Tesco car insurance, you will need to call them on:

If you cancel within 14 days of taking out your policy, the fee is £25. Outside that window, the fee is £40. [2]
