Ageas are the UK’s 6th largest car insurance provider. They’re part of an international group which was founded in 1824 in Belgium and owns financial services companies across Europe. They were renamed from Fortis Holding in 2010, in the aftermath of the financial crisis.

They currently have over three million insurance customers in the UK and have won the Personal Lines Insurer of the Year award at the British Insurance Awards for three years in a row. [1]

How to cancel, or make changes to Ageas car insurance

If you need to make any changes to your cover, such as changing your vehicle, or cancel your policy, how you do this depends on whether you took out the policy directly with Ageas or through a broker.

If you took out the policy directly, you can contact Ageas with the Ageas contact number:

  • 0345 165 0570 (Monday to Friday: 8.30am – 8pm, Saturday: 8.30am – 4pm, Sunday: closed)

You can also use your online account.

If you cancel with 14 days of your policy start date or receiving policy documents (whichever is later) you won’t be charged a fee, but after this period the fee is £50. [4]

If you have taken out a policy with a broker, you need to contact the broker to cancel or make changes.
