The AA (the Automotive Association) is a motoring association that provides car insurance, breakdown cover, maps, and driving lessons.
For their car insurance cover, they act as a broker and provider. This means that for some of their policies, a different insurer may be underwriting the risk.

The AA also offer EV specific car insurance, which is comprehensive as standard.
They’ll cover your battery (even if leased) for accidental damage, fire and theft, as well as covering accessories like charging cables and chargers. If you have a charging cable that crosses onto the street, this cover can be valuable as it covers you for someone tripping over the charging cable.
If you run out of battery on the move, you are not covered for pickup / charging as standard. You’d need to take out a separate AA breakdown membership.
AA car insurance also offer short term cover, from 1 to 28 days. If you are lending or borrowing a vehicle, this is a good option. It’s also useful if you’ve just purchased a vehicle and need instant cover.
If you would like to make changes such as adding a new driver, you will need to call them on the AA insurance contact number:
